Features
The MicroStratiRange (MSR) is a tool that makes plots of biostratigraphic data through microfossil counts in XLS files.
Users can upload XLS files with counts of planktonic and benthic foraminifera, calcareous nannofossils, pollen, spores, dinoflagellates, marine diatoms and radiolarians.
The MSR assists you to visualize data and create figures. In particular, the MSR facilitates biostratigraphic interpretations by integrating multiple proxies.
4.669 Markers
The MSR has a database with 4.448 microfossils. This database collects information such as age of each microfossil (base and top) and in some cases, paleoecological characteristics.
AUTHORS
The authors of the MSR are part of the research team of the Stratigraphy Research Institute (IIES), which is made up of a multidisciplinary group of people interested in the Earth sciences, where disciplines such as physical stratigraphy, watershed analysis, micropaleontology and vulcanology converge.

Monica is interested in paleoclimatic reconstructions and biostratigraphic studies using planktonic foraminifera, stable isotopes and radiocarbon dating. Currently, she is studying marine sedimentary cores drilled in the mid-latitudinal North Atlantic, in order to reconstruct spatial and temporal variations in planktonic foraminifera assemblages to determine sea surface temperature, paleoproductivity, and biodiversity changes at a millennial scale during the Early Pleistocene (1.2-1.5 Ma).

Nannofossils
I am Felipe Vallejo-Hincapié, a geologist specializing in calcareous nannoplankton with over ten years of experience. Currently leading the calcareous nannofossil group at the Instituto de Investigaciones en Estratigrafía, Universidad de Caldas.
I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student at the University of Salamanca, focusing on using calcareous nannoplankton for biostratigraphy in NW Colombia. My goal is to understand the evolution of the eastern tropical Pacific and southwestern Caribbean basins.
As a voting member of the Subcommission on Neogene Stratigraphy, International Commission on Stratigraphy, I contribute to global stratigraphy advancements.

I study a group of fossilized marine microalgae called calcareous nannofossils. Nannofossils are one of the most powerful tools in the discipline of biostratigraphy; that is, dating and correlating sedimentary rocks according to their fossil content. My objective is to position rocks of NW Colombia in a temporal framework to understand the evolution of the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
